Looking Ahead
P6AB had a busy first day. Routines were explained then it was straight into our maths and literacy activities.
We have selected our independent reading novels so we're already on our way towards our Accelerated Reader awards.
This year we will also be incorporating Accelerated Maths into our daily activities.
In our first topic we will be learning about Northern Ireland and the people, places and things that make it special.
We will be researching famous people from Northern Ireland and finding out interesting facts, plus the history, behind some of our famous landmarks.
Following on from this, we will focus on one of the most iconic links to Northern Ireland and Belfast-Titanic.
Later in the term we will be exploring the Vikings and learning about their impact on the people here, before we look in more detail at Europe and get creative with some large balls of wool! It's a secret...
When we're not busy in the classroom, we will be off enjoying our swimming sessions every Tuesday and then putting on our running shoes every Thursday as we work towards our '0 to 5k' run!
Educational visits off-site are also planned-more details to follow.
So, as you can see, P6 is 'busy busy' but definitely an interesting place to be this year.
