Welcome to  our Primary 6 class web page.

We're so excited to have you all back in school and are looking forward to sharing an exciting year together.

Our Literacy focus this half term is Recount writing. I can't wait to hear all about the wonderful things you've been doing during summer and to read about your experiences.

Our Numeracy focus this half term is made up of number, shape & space, handling data, measure and a weekly mental maths focus.

Our topic for this term is GAA & Ireland: History, Geography & Games.

We will also be exploring the history of Titanic and the Vikings, with lots of opportunities for art and creativity.

             ........................................

Our start time is 8.55 am (Gates open at 8.45 am). You will enter by the main front doors. We finish at 3:00pm Monday to Thursday and 1.30pm on Friday.

              ........................................

        Homework and School Bags

Pupils should come to school each day prepared, with a school bag containing their water bottle, packed lunch (if required), and break (a piece of fruit or sandwich-no yoghurts). Pupils can bring in their own pencils, rubber, sharpener, coloured pencils, glue stick, small ruler etc. They will definitely need coloured pens and highlighters.

            ..............................................

** As we are a healthy eating school all pupils are required to bring in a healthy break and lunch. NO NUTS 🥜 as several pupils have nut allergies in our class.

             ..............................................

This is a very important year for P.6 children as some will be preparing for the transfer tests taking place in P7.

P.E. day is Thursday.  On P.E. day we ask that children come into school wearing navy tracksuit bottoms, a white polo t-shirt, a school jumper and trainers.

On Mondays during this first term the children will also  participate in handball coaching sessions. They will wear normal school uniform and shoes but can change into trainers in school.

On Thursdays in term one, we will also be going swimming

They will need a bag with a towel, swimwear, flip-flops for hygiene reasons & swimming cap/goggles may also be brought with them.

Here is to a wonderful, interesting and busy year of learning in our Primary 6 classroom - as well as on some exciting trips!

Mr. Hicks and Mr. McQuillan
